Appeal to find owners of tools recovered during operation to target van thieves

We are appealing for the public’s help to trace the owners of a number of tools which have been recovered from across south Derbyshire and Erewash.

The items pictured have been recovered during an operation to target thieves who stole from vans on more than 130 occasions.

Items recovered include a Makita hammer drill, a De Walt nail gun and a Makita grinder.

We have also found a number of other tools which do not have distinguishing marks on them.

We are now looking to reunite the items with their owners. Proof of ownership must be provided.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the thefts. They have all been released on bail while investigations continue.
